Protocol Detective
Ages 10 and up · About 15 minutes
Players are handed a set of archived message envelopes from the first year of the Network and must work out which interoperability standard each one follows, using only the clues in the record itself.
The game introduces the five founding standards and the reasons each was adopted.
How to play
- Read the envelope's header fields.
- Compare them with the field lists of standards VIN-1 to VIN-5.
- Select the matching standard. Three correct matches unlock the next archive box.
Demonstration
This game is not yet playable. It will be released on this site once the Archive has completed the records it is drawn from.
